Both trainers were wonderful and lead an intense and fun workout (of course the intensity level is based on each individual). Thanks for being so welcoming :)

see all reviewsI’m a big fan of Coach Vicki’s classes! The programming is creative so I don’t get bored; it’s paced so I don’t feel rushed and can focus on my form and moving with intention; and it’s the right amount of challenging so I can ramp it up on days I’m feeling it or ramp it down on days my body is just barely hanging in there. There are all levels in the class, and Vicki offers modifications for every level and/or injury. She’s great with giving clear instructions, motivating the class, and watching everyone’s form to make sure we’re moving safely and effectively. She’s a personal trainer first, which comes through in her care for communicating safe techniques, pointers and cues throughout the class.

Everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive. I will definitely be back for more cycling and would love to try out boxing and pilates here too!

I especially like that he eased into the stretching and lunge reps in the beginning of class, and focused on form and not speed. see all reviewsHaving trained at both Onyx and Pound boxing studios, I can confidently say that Onyx stands out as the superior choice for boxing training and instruction. Here are a few reasons why Onyx excels in comparison to Pound: 1. **Expert Instruction**: The trainers at Onyx possess a wealth of experience and knowledge in boxing. They not only teach the techniques but also share their insights about the sport's history and strategies, which enhances the learning experience. The instructors take the time to provide personalized feedback, ensuring that each student develops proper form and technique. 2. **Focused Curriculum**: Onyx has a structured curriculum that emphasizes skill development at all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced boxer, the classes are designed to progressively build your skills. This methodical approach helps students grasp the fundamentals and master advanced techniques more effectively than at Pound. 3. **Community and Support**: The culture at Onyx fosters a strong sense of community and support among its members. Everyone, from beginners to seasoned fighters, encourages one another, creating a positive training environment. This camaraderie makes it easier to stay motivated and committed to improvement. 4. **Facilities and Equipment**: Onyx boasts modern facilities with state-of-the-art equipment, including a well-maintained boxing ring, various bags, and ample training space. The studio's layout promotes an efficient training experience, allowing for more focused practice and less downtime compared to Pound. 5. **Class Variety**: Onyx offers a diverse range of classes catering to different skill levels and goals, from fitness-oriented sessions to more competitive training. This variety ensures that every member can find a class that suits their needs, making training more enjoyable and effective. In conclusion, while both studios have their merits, Onyx's expert instruction, structured curriculum, supportive community, top-notch facilities, and diverse class offerings make it the better option for anyone serious about boxing and learning the craft. If you're looking to elevate your boxing skills, Onyx is definitely the place to be!

see all reviewsFun, fast-paced class to get a good sweat in! About half of the time is spent doing strength exercises with dumbbells/body weight and the other half at the punching bag. The punching bag was my favorite part! Got some pent up frustration to take out? Punch it out! Remembering the 6 different punches was a bit confusing since this was my first time and the instructions moved quickly, but I went my own pace. There are visual instructions projected on the wall for the strength exercises, so that was easy to follow. Music and our instructor, Jennifer, were energetic!
