see all reviewsThis was my first aerial hoop class! I’ve never done anything aerial, never done pole, and have no kind of experience with this hoop stuff! I take dance classes and yoga too so I’m used to exercise classes. The beginning warmup was nothing I’m not used to. The actual hoop work was definitely hard, but the teacher gave me an easier option for everything that she was teaching the other more experienced people. This made it feasible for me to take the class and feel like I got something out of it. I was able to do a couple little tricks, and I feel like I will probably take another hoop class and try again. My upper body is sore, but I knew that would happen.

The challenge is getting around the hoop and remembering the correct sequence and correct side. The hoops are of different sizes and heights so I think it’s ok to have couple more people than hoops because everyone moves around and try different hoops.

DOM Dancing Space is a safe place for being yourself, dancing, creating and achieving…Aerial Silks 1 (Intro / Beg)
see all reviewsSuch a fun experience! Monica is wonderful~! Very patient and thorough in their explanations 🥰. Also super personable with the students and funny 💖 This is my first time at The Vertitude and my third silks class ever. I really liked the structure of the class. You share the silks with one other person and take turns. You learn a few things throughout the lesson that become building blocks toward a final sequence. I felt that the other studios I went to were a bit fast-paced. But after reflecting, I realized it was more of a “me” problem. There is a time and place for a fast-paced class, and it’s good to push yourself sometimes; I think I just wasn’t ready for it now. At the other studios, I had silks to myself— which is great— but the reason why I liked the sharing structure of Vertitude is that it allowed my muscles to have a short break to regain strength, and it gave me the opportunity to watch the steps several times, so I feel as though what I learned today is more solidified in my head instead of in one ear and out the other. TL;DR Monica’s class at the Vertitude is excellent, especially for true beginners like me 🐛 (I have no doubt that their more advanced classes are appropriate and superb for that respective level, as well 🦋). I also want to shout-out the receptionist and classmates that were all so lovely, friendly, and encouraging. 10/10 would recommend 💯

see all reviewsThe instructor was really patient and nice. I have two left feet and am sooo uncoordinated lol so it was tough for me, but after stretching she had us learn a routine really slowly step by step. At the end she played some music that was slow paced for us to try the routine out and in the end it was a lot of fun. Try not to overthink the moves and also be careful! I kinda twisted my wrist the wrong way so it hurts slightly but its ok its just me being really bad at choreographed dance and having no coordination lol. But it was only me and 1 other girl in the class which was nice. I didnt feel judged or uncomfortable at all. Would definitely try again. The studio provided mats for our stretches and you can do everything barefoot. At the end when she let us try the routine with the music she gave us dance heels to do it in which was nice. Would recommend!
