see all reviewsCatherine is so great! Some feedback for soul cycle: you should release bikes five minutes before class. I asked twice if I could move from the back corner and about 1 min before class started, I asked if I could take one of the empty bikes. However, because the class was “full” I was told to check in again in 3 minutes. Since that was after class started, I just stayed in the back corner, but there were 5 or 6 bikes that remained empty throughout class that I’d have preferred.

see all reviewsFirst timers receive shoe rentals for free. You are assigned a bike but you can ask to be next to your friend if you go together (but you have to wait 4 minutes before class starts). The class is mostly cycling (someone will help you adjust if it’s your first time), but you use the weights to do a few curls in between. Music was loud, but they provide earplugs. Instructor was very kind and motivating.

The studio is always shining clean. Lindsay and Emma are my personal favorites due to I find their challenging level the most suitable for me. Plenty of free street parking around the area and there is free 2 hour lot called Coral parking too. Class itself is a great workout. The reviewers are not kidding when they say the music is loud so wear the earplugs they provide. Mason had great energy but wish he walked around the room checking on people more - there was a girl who clearly was extremely lost and I stepped in to help after the second round because I could tell she didn’t understand the punches.

see all reviewsI am rehabilitating a sports injury, I really like the Academy as opposed to the other places I’ve tried because the challenge comes more from the movements being a little more sophisticated, not so much being pushed by the instructor, like a spin class. It’s good for rehab because although complex, everything is based on things I’ve done before so it’s easy to modify the workouts when my ankle isn’t ready for something yet. Lastly, huge free parking lot!

FYI the temperature isn’t hot - it’s warm at most. Diana is a great instructor! I really appreciate that she would come to the side of the room (instead of staying at the front) so that we could see what she was doing, especially because there were a lot of people.

Today she was giving lots of hands-on corrections as well (for people who said it was ok), which was great for me. I did work up a sweat so I wish I had brought the hot yoga towel to add to my mat!
